Hi, I’m Terri and I own and operate Ashland Homes. I was born and raised in Indianapolis and continue to call it my home. While at Ball State majoring in sociology I realised real estate was my passion, so in 2005 I shifted gears and focused on becoming a licenced agent. I thought all of my friends and family would come flocking to use me as their realtor but I was young and new to business so that didn’t happen. It was getting to be “make it or break it” point and I needed to decide if this real estate industry was really for me. You can only work for free for so long, right. So with the help of a few key people we put together a business plan that focused on helping people find homes to rent in the Indianapolis metro area. That turned into opening a brokerage that matched qualified renters with landlords. Working closely with investors all over the city helped me learn so much about the investing world. In 2008 I was finally able to buy my first property. It was a small two bed room on the west side that I put work into and sold to another investor so they could rent it out. I was hooked. I loved seeing a house that was in need of attention turned into a safe clean home for a family to live in.
In 2016 after starting a family I quickly saw the need to shift gears again and focus on my children and close the rental brokerage. Now as the kids have gotten older and time allows I mostly look for homes that are in need of repairs that I can purchase directly from the seller. There is no inspection, no re-negotiation, no commissions or closing costs, no hassle. Just an upfront easy to understand offer to purchase your property.
