Relocation:
Deciding your next destination is the first step in your move. The most important question is where do you want to live. Closer to work or family? In the city or a more rural setting with room to spread out? Take some time to really think about your lifestyle and what is most important to you. Picture what it will feel like to live in your new space.
Next think about your budget. How much do you want to spend each month? Do you have a downpayment saved up? Here is a calculator to help you decide if renting or buyer is a better choice for you.
After that, think about maintaining that home. Do you like to cut grass? Are you good at fixing little things that pop up like leaky faucets? If yes then a single family home may be best for you. Even if it is a rental you may be responsible for cutting the grass or minor repairs. If the answer was no, you hate maintenance. An apartment or condo may be best.
Lastly it may be time to consider moving to a senior community. Here are some options if this is the best choice for you or a loved one.
Assisted Living – An assisted living community typically consists of small apartments in a care community. There’s a wide range of services across different care communities.
Residential Care Homes – Small facilities that offer personalized service to small groups of adults. They’re also known as adult family homes, board and care homes, or personal care homes.
Nursing Home/Skilled Nursing Facility – This option is for adults who need 24-hour supervised care with meals, activities, and health management.
